Salida’s Stage Left Theatre Company presents Man, Woman, Flower during ArtWalk weekend on Saturday, June 23 at 2:30 p.m. and Sunday June 24 at 2:30 p.m. at the SteamPlant Theater and Event Center.

Man, Woman, Flower is a one-act comedy by Dan LaRocque that features a variety of characters as they walk through a museum and become transfixed by one single painting. In a series of comedic “scenelets” each person conjures a different meaning based on his or her perspective. A struggling couple, an evangelist and more offer comical and irreverent perspectives. It is directed by Stage Left Theatre Company Co-Artistic Director, Devon Jencks. All performances are open to the public, and no ticket is required. Donations are encouraged.

Stage Left Theatre is the official resident theatre company of the SteamPlant Theater and Event Center. Salida Chamber of Commerce Executive Director John Engelbrecht says, “Since their inception, Stage Left has provided exceptional theatrical and artistic opportunities to our community. This all volunteer effort has transformed Salida by offering the highest quality performances to every age group.”

Remaining performances in 2012 include:

  • Shakespeare in the Park: A Midsummer Night’s Dream occurs at 4 p.m. on July 28 at Riverside Park and July 29 at the Buena Vista Valley Fellowship Church. Both performances feature teen actors between 12 and 18 years old. Directed by Devon Jencks.
  • Colorado Community Theatre Coalition Festival one-act productions on August 1, 2 and 3 during their annual conference feature samplings from Colorado’s most successful community theaters across the state.
  • I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change directed by Stage Left Theatre Co-Artistic Director Jan Justis on October 11, 12 and 13 at 7:30 pm and October 14 at 2:30 pm.
  • Hometown Holidays premiers onstage on December 13, 14, 15 and 16 and presents the adventures of one brave family that decides to risk it all and travel West to Colorado during the Gold Rush. Through story-telling, popular songs and dances from the turn of the century, Stage Left Theatre Company presents a special event with a lot of surprises. Directed by Devon Jencks.
